Hello. My name is Yvonne.

My name is Yvonne and I have started this online English learning site to do just what its title suggests. I want to help you learn English the way you want to learn and for the very many different reasons you may have for learning my language.

I am a native speaker from central Scotland and taught English literature and History for many years in Scottish secondary schools. I loved teaching and am still in touch with many of my pupils, including the designer/developer of this website! I am now living in Spain and as a language learner myself, I know how hard it can be to learn another language. I also know that we all have very different learning styles. My husband is a grammar expert, who can spend hours bashing the books. I prefer to chat and listen to native speakers, although I know we all need to learn the basics of any language's grammar.

Since moving full time to Spain in 2017, I have spoken to many Spanish people who want to learn English for a variety of reasons and I am teaching some of them, one to one and in person. What I find however is that as we all have busy lives, lessons have often to be postponed or cancelled due to work, illness, child care or holidays. It was while trying to help them continue with their learning that I decided to offer online learning instead. In this way my existing pupils and you can organise lessons when it suits best and with out having to leave home, your office, the train or your lounger by the pool!

As I previously mentioned I love to chat, I also love my language and I would be delighted to help you learn it and learn to love it as well. I can offer classes specific to your needs. You may want simply to learn to talk and communicate for travel and meeting people, as a central language English is now spoken by more non-native speakers than native! You many need to improve your English for work or business. You may need to sit Oxford or Cambridge exams for entry to university or for job applications. You may have your own reasons! I can help you with any of these. If you are a complete beginner and have little or no English, someone may be helping to translate this for you. Do not worry, I would love to help you get started and in a fun and stress-free way.
